What do nurses in surgery wear over their mouths?

When working in a surgical theatre, nurses are bound by the same infection control procedures as surgeons and aneasthetists. Therefore whenever nursing staff are working in theatres they must be wearing a full, gown, gloves, hair net and a face mask. This ensures that the introduction of bacteria and viruses which can lead to infections and illness are significantly reduced and kept to a minimum.
