A typical healthy calorie intake is around 2000 a day. That doesnt mean you should eat anything you want like a Pizza and a hamburger as long as its under 2000 calories. If you really want to lose weight, you should eat six small "healthy" meals a day. Constantly eating burns your food faster which makes your metabolism faster. Also eating more often causes you to cut back on calories and youll also feel full and just right. After a while youll find that you cant eat as much. Trust me I lost 34 pounds doing that for a month and a half! Also get some exercise in at least three times a week whether it be walking/running/biking/swimming, something to burn calories!
