How to get a cape in Minecraft without going to Minecon?

You cannot get a cape without going to Minecon as of now. There may be other ways in the future, however as of now, there is no other way. Unfortunately, the other option, which was to do something for Notch, has been disregarded, as Notch kept getting asked about personal capes.
