Fish that does not lay eggs?

Some fish, such as certain species of sharks and rays, do not lay eggs but instead give live birth. These fish are known as viviparous, and they develop their young internally, providing nourishment through a placenta-like structure. Examples include the hammerhead shark and the livebearing molly. This reproductive strategy allows for greater survival rates of the young in certain environments.
