William S. Beardsley (born May 13, 1901 in Beacon, Iowa; died November 21, 1954 in Des Moines, Iowa) succeeded Robert D. Blue as the thirty-first Governor of Iowa, serving between January 13, 1949 and his death, including the whole of 1953.
