How do you reset oil change indicator 2002 Mercedes ML320?

During the whole process the car should never have to be started.

Position 1 is in the off position, or the same as when you just put the key in and don't do anything, and position 2 is in the Accessory position. Same position when all the dash lights are on. And you can turn on electrical items in the car.

Here are the steps to reset the oil change interval warning on the ML320. This is usually shown as the double wrenches in the sight panel, with the mileage to service left numbers. This will keep counting down in intervals of 50 mile segments until you reset this indicator. And a "!" indicator will then occur to mean it is now really due for a oil change.

1) Put in key ignition and turn it to position 2(Ignition on)

2) Within 5 seconds of turning it to Position 2 press and release left button 2 times

3) Turn key to position 1 (Ignition off)

4) Before turning to position 2 again press and hold the left odometer button, and then turn the key to position 2 again. Do not release the button until you hear a series of beeps, and the new indicator will read 10,000 miles. You now have 10,000 miles before your next oil change. Standard on all Mercedes ML320's.
