What is an economic organization that operates like a business but doesn't seek financial gain?

In the US, it is called a non-profit organization. Choose from: charities, non-profit organizations, not-for-profit organizations, other NGOs governments, trusts, some standards bodies such as ISO, ITU-T, other international bodies such as WIPO, NATO.
