In the US, it is called a non-profit organization. Choose from: charities, non-profit organizations, not-for-profit organizations, other NGOs governments, trusts, some standards bodies such as ISO, ITU-T, other international bodies such as WIPO, NATO.

Or, more cynically, right now: GM and other U.S. auto makers, banks, investment houses...
