When did Neville chamberlain promise Poland and her ally France would help?

In the 1930's, Britain and France had a defence agreement with Poland which stated that if Poland was attacked, Britain and France would come to its aid. On 1 September 1939, German forces invaded Poland, so on 3 September 1939, Britain and France declared war on Germany.
