What should you do if someone of your friends hit your child which is 12 the lady that hit him is 50?

If a 50 year old person hits the 12 year old child of someone else, the police should be called if it was clearly not an accident. Slapping a child at any age is considered child abuse and assult on a minor. The person had no right to touch the child.
