Where did the term Maggie's drawers come from?

The term MaggieÕs Drawers is an old military term used when a shooter entirely misses a target. MaggieÕs drawers was coined in reference to the size of a large womanÕs intimates. It is unclear as to whether Maggie is a fictional character or based on a real person.
