Why is being a self-starter a personality trait that employers value?

Employers are very busy and need people to be able to begin and complete tasks on their own.

Answer 2: Because an employer expects when they hire you that you will come to work, hit the ground running so to speak and get things done. Employers dont have the time to hold hands with employees they expect to carry the load like mature adults.
