What is the difference between a prophet and a fortune teller?

A prophet is usually someone who tells the future of an entire group of people. Often these people become central figures in a formalised belief system. For example Jesus and Mohammad are both considered prophets.

A fortune teller is someone who predicts the future for an individual (or small group) using one of several known methods of scrying.
