The Shadow of the Leader is the way behaviors of people of influence are reflected in those who look up to them. Sam Walton's impact on Wall Mart is a clear example.People in organizations of any type tend to emulate the behaviors of those at the top of those organizations. The cental finding of Dr Larry Senn in his dictoral dissertation on corporate culture was that behaviors of people in organizations were in part a reflection of the shadow of the leaders. This concept has been written about in books by Larry Senn like Winning Teams -Winning Cultures and taught in seminars conducted by Senn-Delaney Leadership since the mid 1970's
