According to Hebrew belief, God established "East of the Garden of Eden the Cherubim(not the little winged fat babies) and the fiery Ever Turning SWord to guard the way to the Tree of Life". No specific angel had it, but the Cherubim were the second highest ranking angels in Judaic and Christian lore.
