They were popular in the twenties and thirties and in (Retro) films of that era and now. the actor Errol Flynn and Mogul Howard Hughes were known to affect the style.Hughes was photographed in aircraft with the famous Fedora. Bogart may have used the hat style also. Fedora is a type and not a manufacturer such as Stetson or Adams.
