During a quiz today in geometry It was collinear points problem involving points a b and c b is between a and c ab equals 10x plus 7 and bc equals 4x-16 ac isnt given i dont get it Does anyone know?

Collinear means they all lie on a straight line.

If point b is between a and c, then the distance ac = distance ab + distance bc:

ac = ab + bc

= (10x + 7) + (4x - 16)

= (10x + 4x) + (7 - 16)

= 14x - 9

i forgot to mention that the question is looking for x not ac
