You cannot lose weight in just one area. You lose fat proportionally throughout your body. Second, you may be able to percieve your tummy as having lost weight if you do sit-ups because the increase in muscle tone will essentially keep you from pooching out your stomach. Third, high protein diet means nothing. You could be eating bacon and ground beef and that would not help you lose weight anywhere. There is a common misconception that if you eat protein then your fat will melt away. Not true. Try doing a more intense cardio (if you are fit enough, please consult your doctor) work out becasue walking does not burn very many calories. Ok, then monitor the amount of calories you are eating each day and match that with the amout you are 'burning' each day. (don't over do it you do need enough to keep yourself alive and healthy) Then I really recommend you taper back on the protein and start adding a signifigant amout of veggies. Then stop eating white bread and pasta and switch to whole wheat because it is more nutritonal, keeps you full longer and takes longer to process into 'sugar'. NO fried foods and NO butter! Sorry, they are high in fat and cholesterol. Fruit is also a very good thing as well. So the plan is you can eat veggies and fruit till you are blue in the face and lose weight assuming you are eating a common USA diet now and that you do not add anything to your veggies. Potatoes do not count I'm talking brussel sprouts and squash here.
