What is the difference between a Chevy S10 and Chevy S14?

S-10 is the truck model in the case of those registered as a S-14. It is a DMV code.

The real question is if the s-14 only designates the 4x4 versions.

I have seen them registered as both, but the ones registered as s-14 have always been 4wd.
