When do newborn start to hear?

Newborns begin to hear sounds in the womb around 25 weeks gestation. After birth, their hearing continues to develop, and by about 3 to 6 months, they can recognize familiar voices and sounds. They are particularly responsive to high-pitched noises and can differentiate between different sounds.
