No. They can't be properly sterilized for one. Guns work by using unnecessary force to force a blunt stud through your ear. Yes, they have special studs with pointy ends but they still aren't sharp enough. Studs can get stuck in guns and the guns push the back on too tightly. Studs aren't ideal for new piercings because they don't allow for much swelling. Not to mention that the studs are of terrible quality. Guns cause necessary trauma and sometimes bruising.Comparing guns to needles is like comparing punching a wall to stabbing it with a knife. Needles get the job done with much less damage to the piercing site.The people who operate guns aren't piercing professionals, hence the reason they use guns. These gun users spend maybe 10 minutes reading a booklet on how to use a gun. Professional piercers have to go through seminars, apprenticeships,classes on bloodborne pathogens, and much more. You can find tons of info on guns through a google search but obviously, guns are a terrible idea.
