Why does the AC in my car smell musty?

A musty AC smell and a blower motor not working are common issues and usually fixable.

Musty AC smell:

• Mold or mildew on the evaporator
• Dirty cabin air filter
• Clogged AC drain

Blower motor not working:

• Blown fuse or bad relay
• Faulty blower motor resistor
• Failed blower motor
• Wiring issues

If there’s no airflow at all, it’s usually an electrical or motor problem. I usually visit Bergman’s Auto Repair—they’re the best for me. They can clean the AC system and properly diagnose the blower issue so only the parts that actually need replacement get changed.
