What are the different engagement rings?

Engagement rings are worn first, then wedding rings. During the proposal, a diamond or gemstone engagement ring signifies marriage. The pair exchanges a basic wedding ring during the ceremony.

The wedding band goes on top of the engagement ring on the left hand when wearing both rings. The "vena amoris" (vein of love) in the left ring finger is said to lead directly to the heart.
