How far can the distance reach of a Tazor Gun go to hinder a criminal?

The TASER is limited in range to the length of the wires- about 35 feet. However, the TASER company has recently offered an extended range TASER that is fired from a 12 g shotgun, and has no wires. The range is about 100 ft.
