serpentine belt replacement '96 olds 88Found out the hard way (by doing) and was surprised to see a short cut. Remove the plastic splash shield behind the right wheel. It is held with a plastic rivet which is removable. You can now see and remove the motor mount nut and stud nearest to the A/C compressor. Knock out the spacer and route the belt in through there (the real trick, routing the belt then is cake!). Make sure the belt splines are lined up with the pulley groves. Start the car and make sure the belt is properly aligned before final assembly. Replacing the spacer then requires grinding a 20 deg. bevel off one side of the end of the spacer. This will let you tap the spacer back in place. Replace stud and nut and your good to go!
