If the ball is struck by the batsmen of a legal delivery and goes over the boundary rope without bounces, six runs are awarded.

If the ball is struck by the batsmen of an illegal delivery (i.e no ball) and goes over the boundary rope with bounces, four runs are awarded to the batsmen, and one extra to the team total.

If the ball is struck by the batsmen of an illegal delivery (i.e no ball) and goes over the boundary rope without bounces, six runs are awarded to the batsmen, and one extra to the team total.

If the ball is not struck by the batsmen of a legal delivery and goes over the boundary rope while bouncing, then four runs are awarded to the team total.

If the ball is not struck by the batsmen of an illegal delivery (wide or no ball) and goes over the boundary rope while bouncing, then five runs are added to the team total, and none to the batsmen.
