Is it bad for a 14 year old guy to be going out with a 12 year old girl?

If you are old enough to be "going out" you are old enough for this answer.

Dating between minors is perfectly fine. That is, a date as defined as going together to see a movie, going together to see a game, going together for food or to an arcade or fair. However, the together is in the sense of in the same place at the same time.

That being said, anything further puts the young male in jeopardy. If you as the male have any sort of sexual contact with your girlfriend, or if you can be successfully accused of such, you will be charged, arrested, tried, convicted (likely as an adult), and sentenced to anywhere from a year to life in the state penitentiary. That is prison. If you are fortunate enough to secure release after serving time, you will register on the internet as a sex offender for the rest of your life.

This should sound to you like a caution to wait. This is a very different world we live in today. An unforgiving world.
