How about this? Unless you're a hermit or a monk, marketing affects nearly all areas of your life -- certainly anything that involves consumption. Marketing involves the provision of goods and services to specific target groups to fulfill consumer demand. Anything we see in advertising or the media is a product of marketing as is any product we purchase or consume, so marketing literally shapes our world.
