Why was Prince Edward and Prince Andrew not at the the Queens Diamond Jubilee?

Much of the media attention at the Diamond Jubilee events went to the family of the Queen's eldest son, Prince Charles, who is the direct heir to the throne. Remember, the queen has four children, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The balcony at Buckingham Palace would be awfully crowded if all of them made an appearance.
