What this this mean orthopepic?

This Word is spelt 'orthopaedic' although some people leave out the 'a'. It is an adjective and means 'relating to the branch of medicine dealing with the correction of deformities of bones and muscles' - basically, it is something to do with mending deformed bones and muscles, e.g. an orthopaedic surgeon.
