ANSWER
It depends on the Pokemon egg. Example, if its a rare Pokemon it will take more time then a Pokemon that isn't rare. But you might not know if it is rare...
It doesn't really count on time. Its the number of steps you walk which will let the egg hatch. But use a bicycle to get to the number of steps faster.
TIP: Go to www.google.ca and type the Pokemon's name. Then click search and you should see a web. something with bulbepidea, that's from a Pokemon company. So you can search any Pokemon and it will say its hatch rate, catch rate, what attacks it learns while leveling up, its weakness and more!!
AnswerThat't right - an egg hatching only depends on the number of steps taken. Generally, normal Pokemon eggs take 4,000-5,000 steps to hatch. Baby Pokemon such as Togepi, Pichu, Elekid and the like take longer. Rare Pokemon such as Feebas take that long as well and Eevee eggs takes just as many steps as Feebas. Starter Pokemon such as Charmander or Treecko take longer than normal to hatch. It's important to know what sort of Pokemon will hatch from the egg. That way you can calculate how many steps it needs to hatch and plan your move.
Unfortunately, Pokemon with the ability 'Flame Body' or 'Magma Armour' do not speed up the hatching process in LeafGreen like they do in Pokemon Diamond or Pearl. So if you were considering it, forget about it.
