How do you get a stuck pull up handle to the up position on a large wheeled Embark luggage?

Take apart the handle. The spring piece is plastic and sadly, probably cracked and not pushing the medal rod properly.....just figured out that was the problem with my stuck handle. Trying to now find a handle to just replace the broken one.
