What does the word gooey mean?

Gooey literally means having the properties of goo. Mainly this means thick, possibly runny, or possibly sticky.

• The potato salad had a particularly gooey quality to it, and as such I avoided it after the first few bites.
• My hands were so gooey after handling all those pots of honey.
