When did lincohn get put on the back of the penny?

Lincoln has been on the FRONT of the one cent coin from 1909 to the present.

The Lincoln Memorial design was introduced in 1959 and if you look very closely you can see a tiny image of his statue between the center columns. So, to be very technical about it Lincoln's image was put on the back of the cent in 1959.
