How many people in the US weigh over 300 pounds?

I'll be kind and say the writer above is delusional. In this article from MSNBC in '06 you can read that 1 in 3 visiting a particular hospital daily were over 300 pounds. The 780 to 890 would be more likely the number of 900 or 1000 pound people in the US. I think your last count was 2000000+ people over 300 lbs. Not quite the same number.
