Who is Barow in Transall Saga?

Barow is a character in "Transall Saga" by Gary Paulsen. He is a leader of a group of people who dwell in the mysterious parallel world Mark finds himself in after a mysterious encounter with a beam of light. Barow initially helps Mark survive in this new world and plays a key role in aiding him on his journey.
