You cannot kick start a savage because there is no pedal to kick, but you can pop the clutch the same as you would in a car. Have the bike in neutral with the ignition on and get up some speed preferably down hill, hop on and pop it in to second while letting out the clutch and giving it gas simultaneously. I havnt tried this yet, but just got one and was told that this could be done. good luck
This is not recommended on this motorcycle. There is an electric solenoid that operates a compression release. If you have any battery voltage whatsoever you will still need to press the starter button while releasing the clutch, otherwise clutch damage could occur. Second gear would be preferable for this method.
If you want to "roll start" with a completely dead battery this will be risky for your clutch. It would also be dangerous. That being said, if you understand the risks, and you still want to do it, you would need to go really fast in a fairly high gear say 3rd or 4th. Then you will pop the clutch and hopefully start your bike. It should be noted that the engine will not be turning very fast, so as soon as the bike starts the clutch will need to be disengaged again or you might kill the engine.
Long and short of it is maintain your charging system, battery, and starting system well on the Suzuki 650. And never leave the key on, or you might have a hard day.
