Not exactly. A "steed" is simply a horse that is ridden, as opposed to a draft horse which is used to pull carts in harness. A stallion is an uncastrated male horse, generally over 5 years of age. It is possible to have a steed that is a gelding or mare, or to have a draft stallion that is not a steed.
