Where on earth is the Caribbean located?

The Caribbean is located in the region of the Caribbean Sea, which is situated in the Western Hemisphere, southeast of the Gulf of Mexico and the mainland of North America. It is surrounded by Central America to the west, South America to the south, and the Atlantic Ocean to the east.
