What is it mean when a guy wants to meet your parents or vice versa?

So next weekend I am going to be going to do something with the guy I like. The activity we are going to he said they have one of their houses there. He asked me where I wanted to meet. He suggested my house and I asked if he could come and get me because my parents want to meet him.

He said he was thinking the same thing. And also he said that at that house they have he said I could maybe meet his parents too. So by him doing this or saying it does it mean more than friendship? Does guys usually want to meet your parents or vice versa if they like you?
