Why do some people think golf is gay?

Male and female players play in separate leagues. The argument has been made that the Word itself is an acronym for Gentlemen Only, Ladies Forbidden!- hence G O L F. On the other hand I am not aware of any famous Gay Golfers. Females, that"s another story. outside of one or two lady Golf Pros like Nancy Lopez ( known to me from a Camera commercial of all things) they are not that much in the public eye- unlike Tiger Woods, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus (it"s Nicklaus, not Nicholas, by the way}
