Why is St. Louise de Marrilac the patron saint of social workers?

Louise worked closely with St. Vincent de Paul and with him founded the Daughters of Charity. She went on to found the Sisters of Charity. She was very much involved in social work, helping the poor, needy, orphans and unemployed.
