At one month old, babies can see objects that are about 8 to 12 inches away, which is roughly the distance to a caregiver's face during feeding. Their vision is still quite blurry, and they are primarily drawn to high-contrast patterns, particularly black and white. They may also start to track moving objects with their eyes, although their eye coordination is still developing. Color perception is limited, and they may only see shades of red and green at this stage.
