What is a Girl Scout mission trip?

Girl Scouts participate in a wide variety of travel. A trip may be planned by the Girl Scout troop or by a Girl Scout council.

To be a mission trip, the girls would be expected to participate in some kind of community service project during their trip. For example, they might work at a homeless shelter or a food bank or any other number of projects that would benefit the communities they travel through.
