Where are the lanthanide and actinide series found?

The Lanthanides are a Period of Elements in the sixth period.

They all metals. They all have variable oxidation states, but oxudation state '3' is the most stable.

They lie in the Periodic Table between Group (II) (Alkaline Earth metals) and the Transition Metals.
