Why does central locking on Renault scenic unlock every door but drivers?

I had this problem after replacing the driver's door due to accident damage, in my case I replaced a 2000 door with a 2003 door, due to intervening "upgrades", in Renault's infinite wisdom, it transpires that the drivers door lock now operates in reverse to all the other locks, and every time the other three doors were locked, it was unlocked, or locked when they were released, however, having attempted everything I or my friend had ever heard in relation to re-setting electronic locks, including reversing the connections in the loom, swapping the loom, and ninety nine different methods of re-starting the lock set up, I hit upon installing the original door lock, this has the older setting in common with the existing doors and carries on working perfectly in synch. as before, although some of our attempts seemed to work initially, this is the only thing we tried which worked and carried on working.
