Is Elliot a unisex name

There is a female character on the TV show Scrubs called Elliot Reid and this is probably where the question is coming from, I have heard people on other websites ask the same thing because they think it is a nice girls name and are considering calling their baby girl Elliot so it will probably become one in the future because of Scrubs, just like Ariel was widely considered a boys name before the Disney film The Little Mermaid.
