What are some different types of physical features on a map?

Physical maps show the physical features of an area of land, hence the name. This includes mountains, rivers, lakes, deserts, etc.

Political maps show primarily borders, for example, state borders and country borders.

If you have access to a standard history textbook, you should be able to see good examples of both.
