What does 'No Drama Obama' mean?

The nickname "No Drama Obama" began as a point of contrast between Barack Obama and John McCain because of his calm and even temperament and his "cool" and "unflappable" demeanor. According to WikiPedia, when speaking in support of Barack Obama in March 2008, retired Air Force Chief of Staff General Tony McPeak first referred to him as "no drama Obama" and "no shock Barack". These characterizations were picked up and continued to be used by news and other commentators such as Huffington Post's Arianna Huffington. Since then, it has been used by others to indicate their characterization of his not being emotional or angry (and sometimes not angry enough to satisfy the public, especially his progressive base at times).

When the Republican-led Congress would wait until the 11th hour to finally make progress and avoid the looming drastic results of their prior inaction, President Obama said he would not get caught up in their drama and he maintained a no-nonsense attitude and was the "adult in the room" during those Republican threats to shut down the government by failure of Congress to take the necessary steps to avoid that. This helped to seal his nickname "No Drama Obama" as another point of contrast with him and the Republican Congress.
