How is a bar graph different from a box plot?

See related links. Box or box and whiskers plot show the variability of results in terms of percentiles, usually the 25, 50 and 75% percentile , the minimum and maximum of the data set. It is useful in comparing experiments, when the scatter or dispersion of the results is important. Bar charts, as shown in the link, present data values as a series of bars, which can be vertical or horizontal. The x-axis is divided into discrete intervals.
