What does pe-HD 02 stand for?

Polyethene High-Density. It is a thermoplastic made from petroleum. PEHD is commonly recycled. Number 2 states the type of polymer used in its making. Generally, Bottles, grocery bags, milk jugs, recycling bins, agricultural pipe, base cups, car stops, playground equipment and plastic lumber are marked as number 2.

The number makes it easy to separate the objects of the polymer type for recycling.
